A late model lifestyle home required a renovation to link the client’s desire of a French Country flair to the existing theme. The owners asked designer Vikki Gorton to re-design the kitchen to make it more accessible for the many visitors to this big family home. A welcoming kitchen island allows guests and family to perch and socialise, whilst being open to the grand dining room for larger gatherings.

Teaming up with Lisa Marcellus from The Furnishing Room, special wallpapers and fabric options for the customised curtains and furniture add texture and warmth to dress up the living rooms.

And as it’s on an idyllic lifestyle block, with elegant grounds and gardens, the theme needed to connect through to the outdoors. Natural-look vinyl planking floors run through the home’s entrance, kitchen and dining spaces while rich, dark-hued wool carpet brings warmth to the living area and bedrooms. Most interior walls are in soft off-whites and creams.

The kitchen is a mix of blonded timber veneer and gloss acrylic cabinetry with a classic cream Silestone stone bench. Introducing shutters to all windows further enhances the French country theme and gently controls the light through the interior.
