Compact housing is the future of building in New Zealand so it is great when a client embraces a small space.

The success of this project is attributed to Yellowfox designer Peta Davy, in conjunction with Waller Projects and a client with a strong sense of design aesthetic. Simplifying the colour palette puts emphasis on textures and spaces, giving a sense of clarity and peace. Dark intimate bathrooms using charcoal tiles from the Tile Warehouse are balanced with crisp white surrounds in Resene Black White, which is accented with warm honey timber flooring by Flooring Studio and vertical timber slats by Herman Pacific.

This modern home is a perfect example of restrained design where less is more.
